I am currently in my second year of training as a student midwife in the Midwifery Education Program at McMaster University. Previously, I attended the University of Toronto where I obtained an HBSc in Biological Anthropology and an MSc in Anthropology and Indigenous Health.

I was introduced to midwifery in Ontario through my graduate research which explored access to maternity care in Indigenous, rural, and remote communities in Canada. I had only briefly considered the idea of a career in healthcare before, but learning about midwifery ignited my passion and I realized that the midwifery model of care spoke to my deepest beliefs about holistic health and wellness. I had followed my interests in academia, but the midwifery model offered me the opportunity to pursue a career where my interdisciplinary interests and personal values could come together and I could do meaningful work with families at a very special moment of life.

I was raised in Calgary, Alberta, but I have lived in Southern Ontario for the past 17 years. I am so excited to continue my midwifery journey with St. Jacobs Midwives.
